Dutch transportation planners are experts in "Induced Demand", in this case, induced demand for bike-share bikes.

Every train station in the Netherlands rents bikes to train pass holders for €4.65 (about $5US) for 24 hours.

These OV-fiets in are all gone by 10AM. A clear indication of induced demand for bikes (as well as Induced Demand for good transit + bike lanes).

Utrecht Centraal Station has close to 1000 OV-fiets. The whole country of the Netherlands has a fleet of about 8,000 OV-fiets. Most are returned in the evening so early morning, before rush hour, you can see this large cluster of blue and yellow bikes.
