#africaclimatesummit being discussed now in the France24 Debate #F24debate
I just watched it again. What came out from the commentators about African countries:
- World cooperation needed as with COVID.
- "Feel-good" announcements, but no clear path for debt or investing/grants towards low-carbon.
- Joint discussions should be independent of the opinion of the rich.
- They are more affected by, and spend more to adapt to climate change vs. the north.
- Solar does not significantly benefit the poorest, but can help food or energy supply.
- Carbon tax a good leverage.
