Andres<p>So it&#39;s been a little while now. How are people liking their <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> TSDZ8s? And their <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/Toseven" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Toseven</span></a> DM02s? I&#39;d love to know how they&#39;re holding up to abuse after 1+ year.</p><p><a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/Ebikes" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Ebikes</span></a> <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/BikeNerdStuff" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BikeNerdStuff</span></a></p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p>Maybe someday the bike industry will agree on some connector standards and this kind of problem will go away… <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/EBikeConversion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EBikeConversion</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/BikeNite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeNite</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ElectrifyBike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ElectrifyBike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/WillTheBikeIndustryEverAgreeOnStandards" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WillTheBikeIndustryEverAgreeOnStandards</span></a> (2/2)</p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p>They are also working on improving safety - they use XT90 power connectors and build their batteries with name-brand cells. I’m realistically hoping to get a couple of years of use from this kit before it dies. <a href="https://www.electrifybike.com/products/tsdz2b-osf-upgrade-motor-kit-250-750w" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">electrifybike.com/products/tsd</span><span class="invisible">z2b-osf-upgrade-motor-kit-250-750w</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Cetma" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cetma</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/EBikeConversion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EBikeConversion</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ebike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ebike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/CargoBike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CargoBike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/TSDZ2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TSDZ2</span></a> (2/2)</p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p>Any <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> folks with <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/TSDZ2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TSDZ2</span></a> “Error 30” troubleshooting skills? I’ve been fighting with this for a few weeks. I get the error on three different displays, with two different display cables, and two speed sensors. The motor cuts out after about 30 seconds and the display turns off. All my searches on the many forums point to a failed controller. Is it time to buy another motor? <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ebike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ebike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Error30" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Error30</span></a></p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/@Andres4NY" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>Andres4NY</span></a></span> What <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/display" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>display</span></a> do you use with the <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> motor? Mine died recently so I can’t even turn the motor on any more, and finding the right display that will work with the 4 year old software on the motor seems to be a crap shoot. (The company I bought it from has gone out of business.)</p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p>Beautiful day for a ride on the cargo bike, but the Tongsheng motor’s control display kept shutting off and finally died. Off to eBay in search of a replacement… <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/cargoBike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cargoBike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/SW102" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SW102</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ebike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ebike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Cetma" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cetma</span></a></p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p>After riding 300 miles on the <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Cetma" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Cetma</span></a> to break in the <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> motor, I’ve switched back to my <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Workcycles" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Workcycles</span></a> FR8 for everyday rides. The difference in comfort is astounding - the FR8 rolls along on a cushion of air. And being fully upright again means my wrists and shoulders are suddenly much, much happier. <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/CargoBike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CargoBike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ebike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ebike</span></a></p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p>Finally got the battery for the <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ebike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ebike</span></a> motor mounted where I want it. The cargo platform flexes a bit under the battery so I need to add some kind of additional support. Took the front box off for repainting. <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/CargoBike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CargoBike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ebikeConversion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ebikeConversion</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a></p>
Andres<p>Here&#39;s what the <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/TSDZ2" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>TSDZ2</span></a> install ends up looking like on my <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/Cetma" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Cetma</span></a> <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/Margo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Margo</span></a> <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/CargoBike" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>CargoBike</span></a>. I haven&#39;t cleaned up the zip ties yet because the battery is only temporary (I&#39;m going to get a smaller one that fits better).</p><p>Instead of the standard anchor bracket, I screwed a chain tensioner into that anchor bolt hole (<a href="https://cycles.eco/collections/tsdz2-accessories-parts/products/chain-guide-for-tsdz2?variant=" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">cycles.eco/collections/tsdz2-a</span><span class="invisible">ccessories-parts/products/chain-guide-for-tsdz2?variant=</span></a>) because eccentric bottom bracket + chainstay. There&#39;s some foam protecting the frame in case the motor moves.</p><p><a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/BikeNerdStuff" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BikeNerdStuff</span></a> <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://social.ridetrans.it/tags/EBikeConversion" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>EBikeConversion</span></a></p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p>Rode around town testing the Tongsheng motor on the Cetma cargo bike. Did great tackling hills I would never ride without a motor. It was a chilly 28F but nice and sunny. <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/cargobike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cargobike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tongsheng</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/tsdz2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tsdz2</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ebike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ebike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Provincetown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Provincetown</span></a></p>
Rik @ bikescape.org<p>Tons of progress today on the Tongsheng motor install on the Cetma cargo bike. Tuned the eccentric bottom bracket for better clearance of the motor, zip tied the speed sensor, and figured out which side of the chain tensioner the chain goes on! Put the cranks and pedals on and plugged everything together. Test rides were great fun (even though it started raining). <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/cargobike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cargobike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/ebike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ebike</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/Tongsheng" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tongsheng</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.green/tags/TSDZ2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TSDZ2</span></a></p>
