Multimodal Explorer<p>This week's video is from Courtenay, BC. Multimodal Explorer<p>The new Hillside Avenue protected bike lanes in Victoria, BC are progressing well. This will eventually provide a connection between the Kings Road bicycle boulevard and protected bike lanes on Gorge Road and Government Street. <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/yyjbike" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>yyjbike</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/biketooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>biketooter</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/bikelane" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bikelane</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/bikelanes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bikelanes</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/ProtectedBikeLane" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ProtectedBikeLane</span></a></p>
Port Phillip Bicycle Users<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@KatCopseyGreens" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>KatCopseyGreens</span></a></span> The lack of protected lanes on St Kilda Hill is a disaster waiting to happen. Going northwards, people on bikes have the door zone on the left and heavy trucks on the right--- trucks use the left lane before they divert on to Queens Road at the Junction. Going south, we are again in the door zone, this time made more dangerous at higher speeds down the hill. At Alma Rd intersection, the unprotected bike lane is perched between two traffic lanes-- not comfortable for many riders. <br><a href="https://aus.social/tags/cycling" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cycling</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/BikeLane" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikeLane</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/melbourne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>melbourne</span></a></p>

Dr. Brad Rosenheim<p>Let me just say that I will not, to the best of my ability to be annoying and in your face, cede space to cars who enter a bicycle lane directly in front of me to pick someone up. Expect contact, expect yelling of a seasoned vocabulary from a New Jersey upbringing, and, hopefully, if I am OK, a broken or displaced side view mirror.</p><p>There.
