His message, delivered by God, was that all are equal and should live peacefully with one another. </p><p>His birthday is a major holiday in the Sikh calendar (although not all agree on the date). Ned Yeung<p>When Raj Uppal was elected president of CUPE Alberta in March, the CUPE presser read, "Uppal appears to be the first woman of colour to lead a major union in Alberta."</p><p>Shortly after that (just a couple weeks ago in October), AUPE elected Sandra Azocar as president. I'm liking this new trend!</p><p>As much love as I have for Rory Gill and Guy Smith, and their incredible history in the labour movement, I noted to my wife how our new president "looks more like the workers and less like the bosses". Andrew Kuchling<p>The Python Software Foundation just had to pass on a US$1.5M grant from the National Science Foundation for PyPI maintenance. One condition of the funding was that the PSF drop any DEI efforts, and if this condition is violated, the NSF can claw back the money even if it's already been spent. That clawback is too risky, so the PSF had to pass on the funding.
