More #OutdoorDining during a time that #NYC City Council thinks shouldn't be allowed. 3 of 4 tables in use.
@Andres4NY I love outdoor dining, partly because I can usually leave my bike parked close to me.
@Andres4NY I have never used an outdoor dining shed but I'm one of those rare folks that doesn't oppose things just because I don't need/use them. Plus I still appreciate that they take up a parking spot or two for something other than cars. Hope the city will reconsider the winter ban on them.
@Ny_jc_gal_76 @Andres4NY Cough, aside from maybe a bike corral here and there (which, where and when was the last time NYC added one of those?), what other space would DOT take away from cars other than parking? It's not like the city is suddenly going to start systematically requiring enclosed garbage bins located off the sidewalk, as much as that would help solve the increasing rat problem.
@roadskater I'd be happy if all the following were put onto the roadbed (aka
curb parking spaces): all Citibike corrals, large street trash facilities, bump outs with street trees, parklets with some vegetation and a bench to sit on. Also bike corrals, as you mentioned, preferably covered ones.
@Ny_jc_gal_76 I'm in favor of all of those.
