Next, a question from @Pepijn asks, via @sam
Q7. I would love a good quality portable bicycle pump I can bring along. Preferably something that goes up to six-ish bar.
Weight and size isn't the greatest issue but, within reason, something I can throw into the green box would be nice.
What are you suggestions?

@Pepijn @sam @bikenite A7. I was gifted a used one of I think this pump https://ride.lezyne.com/products/1-mp-mfdr-v204hv
And I've only had to use it once (thankfully) but it was pretty decent. I also had a Topeak mini morph that I used for a while. This Lezyne feels better built, though the handle is less ergonomic. I do like the screw-on attachment to the valve better.

#BikeNite A7:
This Flextail tiny pump has had good reviews and I am just now trying it out.
@MartyCormack @ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite oh that's fucken NEAT
i like it
i think i like it a lot
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite I bought a extremely small, compact Lezyne Grip Drive HP on suggestion of #BikeNite, but I have no idea if it works or not, because I *also* took the advice of #BikeNite folks to put the best tires I could on my bikes... so haven't gotten a flat (yet). Which reminds me, I need to buy some spare tubes for some of the other size bikes I now have, oops.
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite
I have that pump and can vouch for it. It's great, has lasted me over 4y so far.
I also like that it has a reversible screw to pump both Presta and Schrader valves.
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite A7. I really love the mini-pumps like this that can be operated like a mini-floor pump rather than having to hold the pump with one hand and pump with the other. But the latter can be aided if there's a detachable hose so the pump is not directly connected to the valve, where it can be easy to break the valve off the tube. I have a Lezyne hand pump style which is great quality. And a Topeak road morph, which I prefer using, but not as nice.
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite I second it
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite #bikenite A7: delighted with Lezyne Road Drive which has worked great whenever I've used it and when I f'ed one up they replaced it for free even though it was arguably my fault. That gets them a lifetime of free publicity from me :-)
OMG they sell a cheap seal replacement kit so you don't have to replace the whole thing if it starts losing pressure, I love them even more.
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite there may be a better one now, but when I pull out the Topeak Road Morph G (with the gauge), the CO2 users put their kits away.

I've only used it a couple times but I like this "air handler" mini pump with the high and low pressure modes so you can trade force for volume until you need the extra pressure.
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite A7. I’ve always carried full size frame pumps. I have a very old metal Zelfa under my desk (because it needs replacement parts I can’t find). I couldn’t find another one when I decided to replace it, so I grabbed an inexpensive one at REI, brand doesn’t matter, they don’t make full sized frame pumps any more. To get a decent one I sprung for a Silca which I have not had to use yet in anger (it did work fine in my family room). #BikeNite
@rand @ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite BikeX.org in Palo Alto usually has a box of full size pumps kicking around. Send an email, someone will help you find one. Lmk if there are any problems, I can help.
@trouble @ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite oh good idea, thank you!
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite A7 #BikeNite +1 for the Lezyne 'floor drive' models as already mentioned by others. Choose the most appropriate obv., but I find the HP model (high pressure) does a reasonable job at 'gravel' tyre volumes too. I have that and the XL model for my fattie.
@ascentale
A7: I already responded earlier but for the benefit of all: Lezyne micro floor range ftw
Small
Repairable
Definitely goes above 6 bar and most importantly you don't die trying to get them there because it is a floor pump (use your body weight a bit)
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite I fear that for whatever reason, we are not living through the golden age of pumps right now. A full size frame fitting pump of good quality would do the job; alas, they seem to have all but died out.
@ascentale @Pepijn @sam @bikenite #BikeNite A7: As already mentioned in the original thread, I'm quite happy with Topeak's Morph series. I have one over 20 years old which still works, but doesn't stay closed anymore due to some cracks in outer plastic parts. It's my spare pump now. My current pump for on the road is https://www.topeak.com/global/en/product/244-TURBO-MORPH-G which goes up to 11 bars. It's not really a very compact pump, but not big either. From my point of view a good compromise.
