New at my Patreon... We ventured to the obscure suburb of Strathmore to enjoy Greek flavours at a local cafe - and to visit a remaining patch of native forest:
I am not on the market for property but I think I need to go to an open house at this incredible retro Preston property

We dropped into Strathmore (yes I know, where?) this morning to visit a Greek-style brunch cafe called Athos. I'll write about it tomorrow in my Patreon - but in the meantime, what would you order from its menu? I've also included the Specials board.
(BTW there's nothing vegan on the menu, but I saw some spectacular vegan salads in the display cabinet at the cafe.)
@timrichards Wow I heard you! Love my train journeys

They've plotted out long distance drives into central #Melbourne, trying where possible to avoid motorways, and take local streets instead.
If you drive this way, it might take you longer if IV's 30kmh local streets proposal gets up. And it probably should.
But who would drive this way?
A double #rainbow just graced #Melbourne at #Sunset.
Rainbow! Against an ominous yellow sky.
I have been hoping for weeks to get a photo of a pigeon in front of this pigeon paste up in centre place and finally succeeded
Just watched an interesting game on the human-sized chessboard outside the State Library. The players had almost obliterated each other, to the point where black had only a king and a pawn, and white had just a king. Of course black was able to win eventually, but it was fascinating to watch.
The eternal question - are the pumpkins ripe enough to harvest? answered

And here comes Saturday. Beware the ides of March!
Good morning from Melbourne! Another hot day coming up (this is getting weird for March).
Writing another chapter of my Train Europe book today. What's your day ahead looking like?
#melbourne people: if you like dogs you should get yourself to Pascoe Vale pool this Sunday. The pool's annual tradition is that on their last day before closing for the season they invite the dogs of the area to come for a swim. I don't have a dog but went along last year anyway. Several swimming pools full of excited dogs is one of the most delightful things I've ever witnessed
I don't know how long this has been broken but looks like another escalator has borked on Melbourne's public transport network. This time at Melbourne Central Station.
Hopefully it doesn't take as long to fix as Box Hill!

Interesting how close together some tram stops are on the 57 tram route through North Melbourne – in this shot I was standing at the North Melbourne Town Hall tram stop on Queensberry Street, looking west to the next stop which was only a very short distance away.
I imagine when they bring in the low-floor G-class trams soon, they might rationalise the stops as they build them up into platforms.
A little proofreading wouldn't go astray. #Melbourne #SpencerStreet
on my way to Fed Square to see Kneecap. will it be packed? will it.
though I’m sure there’s still space for a few more, #Melbourne people, so come on over
